For the past couple of months, we have been using Enhanced Login Security when logging into Internet Banking in order to provide an additional level of security. Up to now this has been done on a voluntary basis. Effective Wednesday, December 27, 2006, Enhanced Login Security became mandatory as required by FFIEC (Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council).
When you log in to Internet Banking, you will be prompted to answer a security question and to validate your email address. Once you confirm this information you will be asked to submit your computer to the Enhanced Login Security feature. By doing this, Internet Banking will recognize your computer for that account number. If you login at any time from a different computer, you will be asked to answer your challenge question. If you cannot answer your challenge question exactly as you originally typed it, access to your account will be denied. Please remember to communicate this information to your joint account holder if they need access at any time. This feature is for your protection.
Enhanced Login Security:
- Defends against identity theft and fraud.
- Offers you security from any computer, wherever you are.
- Makes it easy for you with one-time sign-up.
If you have any questions about this new deterrent to Identity Theft and Fraud, please call Sun East at (610) 485-2960 or (800) 451-4204.
