Sun East Federal Credit Union Names 2020 Student and Teacher Award Recipients

Anna and Tyler Hunter HeadshotsAston – July 2, 2020 – Sun East Federal Credit Union recognizes and awards students in our community for their volunteer efforts that support the credit union’s philosophy of “People Helping People.” The awards, created as a benefit for schools that have a charter membership with Sun East Federal Credit Union, are for students who performed community service within the last year and had a positive influence on the people around them. This year 14 students received financial awards for their community service efforts:

“Sun East Federal Credit Union and staff are committed to community involvement and we like to recognize outstanding students who share that same passion and commitment to community,” said Terri Lannon, Senior Director, Community Outreach.

Sun East also recognizes the importance of educators being role models for young people and guiding students towards a successful future, and pays tribute to teachers who demonstrate excellence in creating a motivating learning environment for their students. The Best Teacher Under the Sun Award acknowledges outstanding achievements of teachers in their performance of daily classroom activities, special projects or programs, or exemplary efforts to inspire students to reach beyond their grasp.

The award application is open for all educators who teach in schools that are part of the credit union’s Select Employer Group program. Teachers can be nominated by school administrators, faculty, parents and students. The awards committee selects one winning teacher from each category of Elementary, Middle, and High School levels. Each winning teacher receives $500, and his/her school also receives $500.
