MARCH 17, 2020 | Temporary Limited Branch Access to Prevent Spread of COVID-19

As COVID-19 continues to impact our area, we want to express our heartfelt concern to all who are affected. The health and safety of our members, employees, and communities is our top priority and we continue to enact impactful measures throughout our organization such as social distancing, work from home arrangements, and temporary changes to branch services.

TEMPORARY LIMITED BRANCH ACCESS

As an additional precautionary measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19, beginning on Monday, March 23, 2020, we will implement drive-thru only access at all Sun East branches; and for those branches without drive-thru lanes, our Mobile Branch Unit will be intermittently available with ATM access and the ability to perform teller transactions. Loan closings, access to safety deposit boxes, and access to financial advisors will be by appointment only. Direct deposits will continue to post to accounts as normal, regardless of branch access.

Please be advised of the following Branch Access Schedule beginning March, 23, 2020 until further notice.

Shared Branching transactions are not permitted as part of drive-thru services or Mobile Branch Unit services, per CO-OP regulations.

ATMs are available 24/7 (all Sun East branch ATMs take deposits).

Loan closings and financial advisor consultations are by appointment only.

DIGITAL & REMOTE BANKING OPTIONS

We strongly encourage members to use Sun East digital tools and other resources for self-service banking and 24/7 account access to aid in avoiding public interaction and minimizing exposure. For your convenience, you can access your accounts:

  • Online at www.suneast.org or through the Sun East Mobile app available in the App Store and Google Play.
  • From there, you can open additional accounts, make loan payments, view transactions and account balances, pay bills using Bill Pay, transfer money, deposit checks with a simple photo, set account alerts, find the nearest ATM and more.
  • Or utilize SUNNY, our 24/7 telephone banking option, at 610-485-6800.

It’s easier and faster, in most cases, to manage your account remotely given that call and branch drive-thru wait times may be longer than usual. If you haven’t enrolled in online banking access, it only takes a few minutes. Enroll now.

Sun East members can access ATMs at any Sun East branch or through the Sun East Mobile Branch Unit. As part of the CO-OP Network, Sun East members also have access to over 30,000 surcharge-free ATM locations nationwide. To find the ATM nearest you through the shared-branching network, use one of the following options:

  • Visit co-opcreditunions.org/locator
  • Download the Sun East Mobile App and select Locations
  • Download the CO-OP Mobile App
  • Text a Zip Code to 91989
  • Call 888-748-3266

FACING FINANCIAL HARDSHIP

Sun East understands that members may find themselves facing financial hardship as a result of COVID-19’s impact on employment interruptions, medical situations, caring for a loved one or other unique circumstances. If you find yourself in need of aid to get through this temporary disruption, please reach out to Sun East at 610-485-2960 x751 to discuss how we might be of assistance with payment arrangements or special borrowing options.

BEWARE OF CORONAVIRUS SCAMS

Scammers often take advantage of natural disasters, outbreaks and other challenging events, to sell bogus products, and trick you out of your money. They might promote coronavirus awareness and prevention tips, or offer fake information about cases in other states. They might also ask you to donate to victims, give advice on unproven treatments or send malicious email attachments. Sun East will never call or email you and ask for personal information such as credit card numbers, account numbers, or PINs.

Here are some tips from the Federal Trade Commission to help keep you safe from scammers:

  • Don’t click on links from sources you don’t know.
  • Watch for emails claiming to be from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or experts saying that have information about the virus.
  • Ignore online offers for vaccinations.
  • Do your homework when it comes to donations, whether through charities or crowdfunding sites. Don’t let anyone rush you.
  • Be skeptical of “investment opportunities” relating to coronavirus.
